Formula 1 New Car Rules 2009

In the 2009 Formula 1 season new rules are set for the F1 cars , lowering costs due to the Global financial crisis .

Main changes in Formula 1 cars in 2009 :

1.Tyres : Grooved tyres are replaced with slick tyres , soft tyres are marked by green mark around the side of the tyres instead of a white line in groove .

2.Engine use : Each engine shoud be used for 3 races rather than 2 races in Formula 1 2008 , and drivers are limited to 8 engines for the whole season , max RPM is lowered to 18,000 instead of 19,000 .

3.Body work :

A.Adjustable wings and Flaps are allowed for the first time .
B.Front wings are wider and lower , rear wings are higher and narrower .
C.Barge boards, winglets, turning vanes, chimneys, viking horns and dumbo ears are all banned , checkout the picture below for 2009 Ferrari Formula 1 car VS 2008 Ferrari Formula 1 car .
